How to Play Tempo Keeper

Tempo Keeper tests your internal rhythm and timing accuracy. This beat keeper game challenges you to maintain a steady tempo without any audio cues - relying purely on your internal sense of timing.

  1. Tap to start and listen to the metronome beat
  2. After a few beats, the sound stops but you must keep tapping
  3. Maintain the exact same tempo in complete silence
  4. Your accuracy is measured as a percentage - the closer to the original tempo, the higher your score

What's a Good Score?

Scoring above 90% accuracy shows excellent rhythm sense. Musicians and drummers often score 95%+. The challenge increases at different tempos - very slow and very fast beats are harder to maintain accurately. Perfect tempo maintenance is extremely difficult, even for professionals.

Fun Fact: Professional drummers develop such precise internal timing that they can maintain tempo within 1-2 BPM over several minutes. This skill is developed through years of practice with a metronome.

How to play

The metronome plays four beats at a random tempo, follows with two quieter ones, then goes silent. Your job is to keep tapping at exactly that tempo with nothing to guide you but your own sense of time. Stay inside the timing window and your beat count climbs; drift more than 15 percent off the beat and the run ends.
